In the summer of 2023, musician Brian Keating and his band, Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, approached Samuel about developing a 1960s-style music video for their cover of Smokey Robinson’s “You’ve Really Got a Hold on Me.” To capture the period, Samuel worked closely with Keating to establish an appropriate lighting plan using several lights to amplify the effects of the neon signs. Samuel also used a series of 1970s Canon FD lenses to punctuate the style of the 1960s further.
